About New Zealand

New Zealand – an ideal place to call home

New Zealand is an island paradise in the Pacific Ocean 2000 kms southeast of Australia. It is made up of two main land masses – the North Island and the South Island.

The indigenous people are of Maori descent, so you will often hear New Zealand referred to as Aotearoa, or ‘land of the long white cloud’.

Home to approximately 4.3 million people (affectionately referred to as ‘Kiwis’), New Zealand has a unique, rich culture and vibrant multicultural mix. Residents include Maori and European descendents, as well as immigrants from the UK, Ireland, South Africa, Canada, America, Asia (mainly China, Korea, Taiwan, Hong Kong), and the Pacific Islands (Cook Islands, Fiji Niue, Samoa, Tonga, Vanuatu, for example).

New Zealand’s stable and evolving economy, exceptional lifestyle, world class education system and fresh investment opportunities make it a great place to live, work and play.

Known around the world for its balanced way of life, spirit of adventure and breathtaking natural resources, New Zealand is recognised as a relaxed, tolerant and reasonably safe country.
